  • Danish fur farmers produces annually around 14 million mink – nearly one third of the world production.
  • In 2008 there were 1,564 mink farms in Denmark
  • The export value of Danish fur is approximately DKK 4 billion annually
  • Denmark is the world's largest producer of raw skins for fur
  • Most of the fur skins are exported to China, where the skins tanned and sewn, and then reexported to other countries
  • Kopenhagen Fur is the world's largest auction house for raw fur skins and global hub for fur industry
  • World production is currently over 45 million skins
  • Denmark also produces a smaller number of fox fur, rabbit fur and chinchilla fur.
